How did Neem Karoli Baba MAHARAJJI find me?
Long story short
In this lifetime I took a psychedelic at 17 and went from a suicidal angst ridden atheist materialist teenager to “spiritual” even though I had no map or words or concepts for it. There was oneness I was seeing universes in every grain of sand on a jersey shore beach. Afterward I was on the path of psychedelics for spiritual purposes. When I went away to Cali for film school my uncle b recommended remember be here now. As I read it I was introduced to Neem Karoli Baba MAHARAJJI and when Ram Dass had his heart opening experience I felt the same feeling of home. The middle core section of the book was read to me by a divine voice and I went into the same state of oneness I had on psychedelics on nothing but air. Still after ups and downs I felt I needed a guru on the physical plane like Ram Dass found and didn’t accept baba as my guru. After experimenting with my parent’s guru Prem Rawat and rejecting him as my guru, I went to see Ram Dass years after reading be here now. I had amazing experiences. At the same time I wasn’t sure if Amma the hugging saint or baba was my guru. Ram Dass said “take my guru” to us at the retreat and I began to accept him as my guru. That same summer I went to see Amma when I received Amma’s hug I felt baba come through her and she said “Ram Ram Ram” in my ear and from that moment on I fully accepted Neem Karoli Baba MAHARAJJI as my root guru. Yet as it says in be here now “When you know how to listen everybody is the guru. It’s right here always.”
